My Father: Charles Albert Sutton of Phillipsburg, NJ, 4 July 1932 - Feb. 1985. All sisters & brother are dead also.
Grandfather: Percy Sutton of NJ or possibly PA, died in Phillipsburg in 1955. Was told Percy was 1/2 PA Dutch & 1/2 German. He also worked on one of the railroads, don't know which.
Grandmother: Emily Cora Hill, Mar. 1894 - May 1972, of whom I have her family for several generations. Nothing Percy's side is my problem. I can't find him anywhere. No census, no death record, nothing. I don't know any names from his side of the family except that either Charles or Albert of my fathers name, is from his grandfather I think he had told me. Immigrated to US, Worcester, MA, about 1900 with his 8 year old daughter, Pauline; she is my grandmother. Born 1892 Mar 7 in Goteborg, Swe or so I have always been told; however, no one can find record of her birth, her mother's death(?), her father's or her emmigration. If you can help, I would REALLY appreciate it; would share any information I have, which is admittedly sparse.

SWANSON, Johnnie

Johnnie L. Swanson was born in Africa and brought to the USA and made a slave owned by Johnnie Leonardo (or Leonard Swanson) Swanson. In 1871 a son was born and named Casper who married Allie Boykin and had a son naming him Johnnie Leonardo Swanson and a daughter named Verbrie (or Virbra or Verbra who died in Guthrie, Oklahoma in the 1960's or early 70's). Johnnie married Flora Marie Davis in 1939 after the both of them graduated from Langston CA&NU now called Langston University in Langston Oklahoma. To this union a daughter Shirley Marie was born in 1941 and a son Johnnie Leonardo Swanson Jr. born in 1946. No children were born to Shirley however Johnnie Jr. sired Christopher Scott Swanson born in 1977, Janet born in 1973, and Johnnie Leonardo IV born in 1980. Johnnie IV adopted a son named ElKanar when he married LaKesha Sercy and they had a daughter named Talon, born in July, 2004. The Father of Johnnie Jr. died in September 1967 in Oklahoma City and was an educator as is his mother Flora and his sister Shirley. Johnnie Jr. attained 5 college degrees and was a U.S. Navy veteran of 30 years.
Another family of Swanson's was discovered living in Springer Oklahoma who later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and then to Northern California. This family of Swansons were of a man named Johnnie Leonard Swanson who died in Springer, Oklahoma prior to their move to Tulsa. To this researcher (Johnnie L. Swanson Jr.) knowledge, Leonard the son was a Policeman in Tulsa before moving to California. He had a daughter who met this researcher by accident at a church concert in San Diego California in 1994 while he was stationed in San Diego, California. After the Navy, I lost track and the phone number for the Swanson's in Northern California.
Johnnie Jr. lives in Oklahoma City as of 2005.

Looking for George Schwartz/Swartz/Swarts believed to have died in Cadillac Wexford co MI on 21 Sep 1904. Wife was Harriet, children - that I know - Elizabeth, Walter and Allen. George, also, had a brother Levi who died 11 Dec 1904 in Cadillac Wexford co MI. Wife was Frances. Levi was born in Columbiana co OH while George was born in PA. Their sister Catherine was my ggmother. They were in OH on the 1850 Census but have not found them since. From old diary, I have concluded that they lived in Cadillac MI and died there. I am looking for descendants and any info on these people. Their sister was Catherine (Mrs Lewis Barrick of West Twp Columbiana co OH), other siblings are Henry, Will, Mary Ann and Susan. Have found their name spelled Swartz, Schwartz, Swarts. Will lived in Cleveland OH but can't find him after 1910.

Note: According to the LDS files:
*There is a William Sweet in the 1860 census (p. 437 20th Ward 1st Division Philadelphia city census taken on 31st July) with the Joseph Sweet family. Joseph was 44 years old, a tailor, born in Pennsylvania. His wife is Elizabeth, 31 years old born in England. SIblings show as Francis, 15 (male), and Catherine, 9. There is a Thomas Miller living
with them who is 27 years old and a plasterer (most likely a relative perhaps of Elizabeth). Thomas and the children were all born in Pennsylvania William is shown as 5 years old.
**William and family were in the 1880, Philadelphia, PA census. The 1880 Philadelphia City Directory Reads: Sweet William F., driver, h 1019 Arazona [should read Arizona].

Jacksonville, Florida was the only place I ever knew him to live. He or ancestors quite possibly originated somewhere in Georgia. He was married to my grandmother Nora Tyner. Both are believed to have some native american roots.They had several children: Arthur Aubrey, Jr., Doug, Midge, Phyllis are the names I know. I am uncertain of surname origin but believe it to be English. All are deceased except, Douglas, Phyllis, and Midge according to my knowledge.

Adolph Miller, son of Ludwik Miller and Jozefa Brzoska, living at 46 Railroad Avenue, married Balbina Sztandorska, daugher of Andrzej and Teresa, living at 471 Henderson Avenue, age 24 or 20 if she was born in 1883.
Ludwik Miller, b. 6 Aug 1904 in Jersey City, son of Adolph and Balbina Sztanderska married Catherine Jurgilewicz, b. 14 Nov 1908 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Jozef and Rozalia Rajko on 10 March 1926 at St. Ann's Polish Church in Jersey City; witnesses were Theresa Sztandarska and Jozef Michniewski.

2 Feb 1902; Franciszek Domanski son of Mikolaj & Katarzyna Gl~owacka, living at 166 Morgan, age 25 m. Julianna Szpanowska Karol S. & Katarzyna Sztandarska, living at 166 Morgan, age 19;

There are 1910 and 1930 U.S. census records for the Adolph Miller family and/or their children. In 1910 the family resided at 214 Wayne Street in Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ. The family consisted of: Adolph born in 1873 in Germany. He was married to Anna (Balbina) S(z)tandorska who was born in 1883 in Russia/Poland. They were married in 1903—see above in Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ. In 1910, they had two (2) sons: Henry born in 1905 in New Jersey and Louis born in 1906 in New Jersey. Both Adolph and Anna immigrated to the U.S. in 1900. Adolph was the owner/operator of a saloon.
By the 1930 census, the sons had left the household and Adolph and Anna/Balbina are no longer raising their four (4) daughters. The head of the residence at 355 York Street, Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ is Joseph Miller. He was born in 1883 in Poland. He is married to Mary who was born in 1886 in Poland. Joseph and Mary were married in 1930—Presumably in Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ. The four (4) daughters are: Victoria born November 12, 1910 (died October 1984), Agnes born December 15, 1912 (died May 6, 1999), Josephine born February 20, 1916 (died June 20, 1994) and Mary A, born November 17, 1917 (died July 5, 1991). All of the daughters were born in New Jersey. Joseph is employed as a brakeman with the railroad. Both Joseph and Mary immigrated to the U.S. in 1907.
I could not locate a 1920 census record for either Adolph or Anna/Balbina Miller.
There are Ellis Island records for my great grandmother Balbina/Anna
Sztandarska and her sisters Franc’a and Helena. There is also a passage record for Balbina’s aunt Franciska Pietrowicz. With the exception of Franc’a, all list their last place of residence as Dobrzyn/Plock/Russia. Franc’a lists her residence as Swietoslaw/Plocka/Russia. Swietoslaw is in the Powiat of Golubsko-Dobrzyn(ski) in the Province of Kujawsko-Pomorskie. It may be that all of the family is from Swietoslaw and some of the family members listed the nearest largest town of Dobrzyn as their place of residence. This was a commom practice.
