Hello- I am hoping that someone out there can help me with the HUGE brickwall that I can not seem to knock down. My great grandfather, Blaine Guy Gardner, was born Sept. 23, 1884 in Fargo, ND (according to his death cert. and obit) and died Nov. 20, 1961 in St. Joseph, MO (fact). He married Margaret Amelia Petersen/Peterson in Iowa. They had 3 children: Clifford b. 1910 in Iowa, Blaine T. b. 1912 in ? and Leroy G (my grandfather) b. 1917 in Omaha NE. All died in St. Joe MO. The problem I am having is that I cannot find anything about Blaine or his parents! According to his death cert. his parents are "unknown" (great!) and he does not have a SS#! His 1909 Marriage record (listed as Guy B Gardener) states that his parents are John Gardener and Nellie Gorham. According to the 1910 census report he was born in NORTH Dakota. Imagine my surprise when, according to the 1920 and 1930 census reports, Blaine says that he was born in SOUTH Dakota. I have checked the birth records in S. Dakota and have found nothing. he died in cleburne tx. his wife was annie ellen garner.they married 1900-1901.i think in bell co. but have not been able to get info to verify this.
