BLOOD, Mary
Country: USA
State:
Date Submitted: July 17, 2009
Notes:
Searching for information on Edward T. (Thomas?Thompson?) Tombs/Toms who married Jane Garvin/Corvin/Going in Columbia County, GA, about 1805. Have searched for his origins since 1972 with no results. He fathered Burnetty, Luretty and Edward H. Tombs/Toms, all three of whom were listed in the Columbia Co., GA, "Free Persons of Color" registry in 1819, with no parents listed. Edward H. Tombs/Toms is my ancestor. Jane married Thomas Willis in 1812, indicating either divorce or widowhood by that time. Any information will be immensely appreciated. Have seen mention of an Edward Thompson Toms/Tombs in Virginia records but have been unable to access the same.

BOCQUET, andre
Country: Pennsylvania
State: France
Date Submitted: October 21, 2004
Notes:
Please, change the date, for Alphonse DEHOSSE (1859-1928) did not arrive in 1884 but in 1887. 1884 is the date on his naturalization licence, but as you know, our french seven are crossed and the clerk has read four on his request form. On the 1900 census, its written he has been arrived in the States for 13 years and he arrived in 1887. The two informations are concordant. By cousins, I was told he arrived in 1887. So, please, change the date.

BODENSCHATZ, Johann
Country: Germany
State: Bavaria
Date Submitted: December 12, 2004
Notes:
Came to Pittsburgh, PA around 1840 to 1860. Died there and is buried, but we don't know where in Pittsburgh, or Allegheny County. Was married to Johanna Stamm in Germany, and they had three sons who came to Pittsburgh with them. The one son, Henry, is my grandfather, and the name became Americanized to Boonshot, which was my maiden name. I have discovered the name only one other place, and that is a soldier in the Civil War from a county in New York State. His name was Charles Boonshot, the same as my father, but we never knew there was anyone else by that name except our immediate family. Have also been unable to find out anything about his family.
