BALL, WILLIAM
Country: ENGLAND
State: possibly Stamford, Lincoln
Date Submitted: October 4, 2006
Notes:
If I have the correct William, he was married on 25 May 1666 at All Saints, Stamford, Lincoln, Eng. They had a son, Richard, who was christened a St. George, Stamford, ca 1671-72. Do not know how many children were born to this union or when/where Margery died. William's second wife, by tradition, was Margaret Sampson and her father was, reputedly, Lewis Sampson.

BALL, John Carter
Country: Virginia
State: Nov 1806
Date Submitted: January 3, 2004
Notes:
Looking for John Carter Ball and his wife Julina Whitten Clay. I don't have any birth or death date for Julina. John Carter Ball is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Missouri. He died in July 1897. His wife Lovina is buried next to him and also their granddaughter Julina. Lovina is the name that appears on their Marriage License. They were married on August 16, 1832 in Lawrence County, Kentucky. Her name is spelled Jelina on the 1850 Census and the 1860 Census her name is spelled Julina. She comes from the same family that is related to the great orator, Henry Clay. They had a total of eleven children, Susan, John, James who was shot and killed by his brother in law on Christmas Eve in 1872. Warren H. Devore was my second great grandfather that killed James Ball. The rest of the childen were Rebecca, Elizabeth, Sarah or Sallie, (who married Warren H. Devore), Thomas, Robert, George, Henry and Alice. I can't remember the other name.
