www.freegenealogylookups.com/cd163.htm
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spanning
over four centuries of Pennsylvania history,
approximately 62,000
individuals are cited here. Several
hundred family history articles included
touch on families
of English, Welsh, Scotch-Irish, German, Dutch, and
French origins. The Bible records reference hundreds
of families, many
of them interrelated, who lived in
Pennsylvania and the Delaware Valley in
the 17th,
18th, and 19th centuries.

Mortality Index: United States, 1850-1880
www.freegenealogylookups.com/cd164.htm
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mortality
schedules counted the number of deaths
that occurred in the year before the
census was taken.
They exist for the 1850 through 1880 censuses. This
means that there are only four schedules currently
available for the
U.S. census.

Another Mystery Marriage Solved
www.freegenealogylookups.com/tip9837_go.htm
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Debbi Greer's success in finding her aunt's marriage
record reminded me of how I found my
parents marriage
application.
My mother told me that she had been married in a
small
chapel near her parents' small coal-miner's village
called
Jacksons in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
I checked the records in
Schuylkill County without
success. I then tried all the abutting counties
records,
again without success.
My parents were living and working in...

Never Assume!
www.freegenealogylookups.com/freea9842.htm
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
My
dad, only knowing bits and pieces about his family,
has always said that he
was Scottish, Irish, and English,
so that's what I thought until I got
started with my
family history research. I've gone as far back as the
1780s and 1840s in the various lines, and almost all
Dad's ancestors are
English, the Scottish name turns
out not to be in our direct line, and
the ones he
thought were Irish turn out to be German. The
moral is:
Never assume anything in your research!

Railroad Records

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
As
a genealogist, can you say that you have even
considered employment records
to help you in the
pursuit of your ancestors? Most of us seem to overlook
these valuable resources, preferring to concentrate
on the tried and
true vital records, census records
and probate records. And because we seem
unable
to dare to branch out from these records, we are
overlooking some
records that could perhaps hold
the key that solves the very question we
have...
